If Solar Red can get out of their bracket, I think they can win it all. Although FC Dallas looks strong, they are playing tournaments every weekend, while most teams have been just practicing.

What's changed with Solar Red from the end of the Classic season to now?

Solar Red lost to Solar & Bandits in State Cup and did not look good at all. Their last game of Classic league play was also a big loss to Wizards.

Just curious as to why you like them over Solar or FCD if they get out of their bracket.

I expect FCD to win. I also expect them to challenge Texans next season; they have all the ingredients (speed, size and skills), just need to build more confidence.

I will look with interest to what Solar does, I expect they might have some guest players; this tournament may show the path they'll be on next season.

    SF:

    FCD - Tigres 4:1
    Solar - Wizards 1:0

    F:
    FCD - Solar 3:1

Agree with your challenge game predictions. I saw Aztecas at State Cup and they have a nice team. They held on pretty nicely against D1 teams, but lacked scoring. They will do good against DIII teams. Liverpool should have been in DII last year. They just got a tough draw in QT.

Are you not anticipating that the Texans will get better as well?

Premier most likely takes it all. Solar Red good but not consistent, other Solar going through coaching change, though I still give them a shot against Premier. Watched Premier-vs- Gall in state cup semi, it was the best I'd ever seen them play, no guests required (or allowed). But there are what, 4 D-1 teams(next year) in this tourney? Wizards and Tigres could surprise. But the possession style Premier plays is troubling for many good teams. Against Gall they were all out attacking, however, something I'd hadn't seen from them very much, and they were good at it. Gave mighty Gall all they wanted. I was really impressed. Watch out for that Premier team down the road. Most likely candidate to challenge 00 Texans top squad. Reality is the top 5 in D-1 are still interchangeable, with an obvious advantage to Texans, until someone knocks them off that pedestal. And Texans will be even stronger in the fall, with player changes that are sure to come.

I do not expect Texans to get better, because they had no obvious holes to start with and you can only keep 11 players on the field. I expect they will add players to the roster, but that could mean significant reduction in playing time for newcomers (or some that had good playing time last season). I think realistic parents cannot ignore this. So I do not see much add-on value for them, even if they go on a recruiting spree.

FCD does not need to recruit much either, as they have all they need (does not mean they won’t; but they do not have to). I did not see any major weakness on that team. It is just matter of developing them.

I think that teams like Solar and Andro-Red are in the “recruiting sweet-spot”. They are good enough of teams to credibly claim top-ambitions and will (or already have) freed-up a lot of spots offering a believable promise of more playing on what could be potentially top teams….

Not to mention promise of development under, coaches with proven record of developing players, in clubs that offer(pre)academy programs.

I respect your opinion. Every team has areas they can improve, Texans are no different. There are some boys without a team that I know well, and if they end up there, Texans will be significantly better than last season. It's just fact. And no, I do not have a kid in Texans organization. But can they replace 4 or 5 kids and become even better? Hell yes. It just depends on what talent decides to go there. If they stand pat, they're still the team to beat.

dd1 the Texans can get better they have holes just like all teams. And your telling me at FC for a team that gave up 32 goals the most by a top10 team by a mile that they have everything they need?

No way any team is close to Texans talent at the moment , and getting more talent for next year . Last season Texans dominated every game they played . Teams got close but never dominated the game .The only way is if you pull bandits top 5 players to a top 5 team and that's a maybe .

Right there with you sweeper. Can't believe someone thinks that a top team can't get better.

But that's the greatness of this forum, everyone can have their own opinion.

Glad to see some talk about 00's. I've been away from the board for a while and came back to find very little chatter on the 00's.

    So....

Andro Red is now with DT Shocked

Bandits is dispanding Crying or Very sad

Solar Partain is getting a new coach Suspect

Texas Toros is now with Real Madrid Rolling Eyes

Tigres having a hard time filling out their roster silent

    What else is going on???

Bandits players seen with DT Gall, Craft, & Leite, FCD East & Wizards. Anywhere else?

Any other top players on the move? Solar Red roster turn over?

My guess is a team already did pull a good number of former Bandits--the Texans! But that is purely speculation on my part.... tongue
Truth is I don't know for certain where any of the Bandits are landing but one, mine, but I know several who were leaning that way, and, if they do end up at DT, I shudder at the prospect of playing them.

Wizards beat FCDallas, which I call a mini upset, the bigger upset was Tigres over Solar.
Solar Red beat Liverpool 2-0, however it should have been a lot worse.
You can tell boys not used to playing in heat yet.

Great games on Memorial Day! Lots of Overtime and FIFA kicks, made for a lot of tired boys. Congrats to Solar boys and to all teams in this tournament for some entertaining soccer.

From the looks of it, Toros are going to stay Toros after that ridiculous performance in the Tourney. The parents were very upset with the new Coach for making drastic changes at the wrong time. So no Real Madrid!
