A youth soccer coach has been arrested on charges of indecency with a child, according to police in Garland.
Jaime Alvarenga, 42, of Dallas was arrested following a routine investigation at a Super 8 motel on LBJ Freeway, police spokesman Joe Harn said.
A 15-year-old boy saw police at the hotel and “made an outcry,” Harn said.
Alvarenga was in the Garland jail Thursday, charged with indecency with a child by contact, a second-degree felony, and aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony. Bail had not been set.
Harn confirmed Alvarenga has been a coach for C.D. Independiente.
He said Garland authorities are working with Plano and Dallas police to locate other possible victims.
Simply because of his access to kids this age over several years and in more than one city, it leads us to believe there may be some others,” Harn said.
