I'm still around. Just don't log on very often. Azzurri will field a team in d3. It will just look very different next season. Time will tell but I stopped making predictions a long time ago.

Question: why is Azzuri listed below AmEagles (old tornados) and United? As the #9-10 d2 team that was relegated down to d3, and moved back up, shouldn't they be above the two moving up teams?

sure looks that way,also manchester white did receive a D3 invite but my question is who is Andromeda(lopez) if the old Andro Navy team coached by Guillermo Lopez is now at FCD???

FC Dallas (Che) got invited back into classic league too.

OS is right, we are no longer with Azzurri, but I do still care what happens to them. We will always think fondly of them and root for them. My understanding is that because "we" were actually relegated and moved back up due to failure to field enough returning teams, we got listed in the 10th spot. The two teams above us were promoted and were therefore, officially D2 teams while Azzurri was officially a D3 team that got back in because of a technicality. I think it's totally fair and all that matters is where you are at the end of the season, not where they put you at the beginning.

I think Azzuri should go to D3 cause' they were relegated and after the loss of alot of their better players it might have been the better choice instead of maybe taking an even worse beating this upcoming season? I think the FCD Blue(formerly andromeda white)gentile team should have got the nod to D2! but this is just my opinion!

I didn't say they deserved to be back in D2. I was responding to someone elses question regarding why the two that moved up from D3 were listed above them. I think that is totally fair to list the team that fell out and got back in on a technicality after the two teams that earned their way in. There is nothing wrong with the last part of my statement either. What matters is, in fact, how they play on the field. If they do well, they move up. If they don't, they won't. People on this site say it all the time. What counts is what happens on the field. In the end, neither you nor I get to decide how CL resolves their "if this, then that," scenarios, in this case "if teams don't come back [for whatever reason], then who in addition to the 1st and 2nd place D3 teams, takes the unfilled slot(s) in D2?" But, if I understand you correctly, you think a team that didn't do enough to earn promotion (i.e. finish 1st or 2nd) should get in over a team that was already there and narrowly missed staying there? Like you said, just your opinion, and I can't disagree entirely with it. I will give you that Azzurri lost some very good players, but I think they picked up some very good players too and they have a committed coach that turned an 8th place D3 98 team into one that won D3 last year and was promoted to D2. Time will tell. I also take a little bit of issue with your terminology "take an even worse beating . . ." I wouldn't say we took a beating from anyone. True, we didn't win a lot of games but nobody, other than FCD Central beat up on us. We tied Crawford, tied Texans Red, beat ASG, and had a lot of 1 goal losses. And before anybody throws it back in my face, I know I just said that all that matters is what happens on the field. Which is why we got relegated in the first place. Don't win, drop out. But we didn't take a beating. This whole pre-academy thing jacked up a bunch of things. Look at Texans Red who couldn't promote on their own but are now listed as the No. 1 team in DI. Just saying.

I understand your point,classic league got everything all jacked up with this pre academy mess! DTR being the number 1 team now thats funny but everything is now open season for the taking in all of classic league, the top 2 D1 teams i think will not be there by the end of the new season but you never know? with players getting older each year and now entering middle school on into HS there will be quite a few drop off's of players and teams so sure as each year passes some teams you might not ever expect to do well will indeed climb to the top! i'm am impressed with how many tyler parents are willing to drive each week to have their BB's play on teams in the dfw area!!!! now thats committment and money for ya!
