    Plano Premier League 2000 Boys

    Post  nteagles87 on Tue Jul 19, 2011 12:01 pm

Can anyone tell me what DI PPL teams are returning? Liverpool qualified for Classic, Texans took Classic DIII slot, Texans (Shamu) lost some players to D1 classic team. Is Barcelona still active?

Barcelona is still active and if you check out the Puma Cup prediction 01 thread someone said they were in the 01 silver bracket playing in that tourney for some reason. There is an 00 bracket so your guess is as good as mine? Also Solar Stark who finished near the bottom of PPL D1 last season got a bye into Classic D2

I see that TFC Red 00 that was in PPL D2 last year beat Liverpool Liddell 2-1 last weekend.

I would like to hear more about that game. Looks like they'll be able to qualify in PPL D1 this season.

Solar Stark didn't have a quality win over any team with a better record in league play or tournaments. Could be a record-setting thumping in D2.

Barca isn't there anymore so I assume it was just an error.

Here are standings from last year and status:

    1. Barcelona - back and will be a strong team
    2. Liverpool Liddell - qualified for CL D3
    3. Texans North - several players moved to Txns White team in CL D1. Have added new players and should be strong
    4. Texans Red West (Metro) - received bye into CL D3
    5. FC Dallas White - back and will be a strong team
    6. FC Premier - no idea
    7. Solar Stark - received bye into CL D2
    8. Texans Black - heard they added players and should be improved

Thunder, Blitz and FCD Gold - no idea

Have also heard that TFC Red added players and should be in D1 this year.

I believe Odyssey 00 Blue will be playing in Plano as well. They should be very competitive right off the start.

Yes, where's the report on this game? That result is a bit of a surprise.

You can't really take mid-July game results seriously can you? No telling how many kids were missing from either team.

On paper this was the easiest game for Liverpool. Looks like they played well in all of their other games against stronger teams so I don't think they were missing players for the weekend. Maybe TFC Red has improved and played them well. It was still a good weekend for Liverpool. I know they have folks on this forum so I'm sure someone will chime in.

TFC Red lost several players but then picked up several from TFC Blue. For the most part TFC Red is a new team.

TFC Blue had 13 returning players from last year, so dont think they got many players from there if any.

TFC Red lost at least 6 players. TFC Red picked up at least 3 from TFC Blue.

seem a little upset. why do defensive? just saying TFC red has several new players. just responding to the comment....."Maybe TFC Red has improved and played them well" didn't see the game but sounds like it was a good one.

No did not mean to sound upset or defensive, just thought your bb played on Red, because you knew about the loss of players and additions

FCD White would have to be the frontrunner at this point, but you never know think there are something like 8or 9 new teams entering PPL this year

Don't think this is accurate. My understanding is that Blue kept 13 of its 16 from last year. One player moved away and one went to Red. Not sure about the third one who left--might have gone to Red. Maybe Red picked up some from White? Either way, I have heard that the Red team has significantly improved. Haven't seen them play myself so just going on what I heard.

Heard there was a lot of turnover from White. Small soccer world so word travels but who knows what's true. BB is with a new group but that wasn't the move. Looking forward to a brand new season and hoping it's a positive change. Or, that he switches to basketball.

Should have mentioned that the info about the new TFC silver team and the improvement in Red came from families and BBs that we knew from Academy with another club. Took their word for it since they had current players on the two teams.

Not going to call it out on the boards. Too many boys went different ways to try to keep the team together. I think the old team will look very different this year, maybe better, maybe worse. Not sure but regardless, BB is 100% sure he made the right choice. Me? After years of having kids in this arena, I'm not sure of anything except don't get too comfortable!

good call woodwork. missing a couple integral starters this tournament. integrating a couple new players. the last game notwithstanding, playing short in the texas heat speaks highly of the team as a whole.

not biting on the "stronger teams" assertion...Smile

don't know about Solar Stark's record against what competition, their bb's mettle or what talent they've added, but i do know that leaping from ppl 1 to cl d2 is a big jump in week to week competition. here's wishing them well. or wishing the idiots who put these boys in this spot a swift kick in the shin.

Ditto on '00 Texans White going from middle of "D2" pack to D-1 for the upcoming season. Gonna be a long season for them.
