Worse, it wasn't even the best of our American boys.

Question 1: If MLS took only the BEST U.S. born American All-Star boys, how would they fare against Man Utd? Exclude Thierry, Beckham, and all the foreign born MLS players.

Question 2: Imagine your bb on the pitch vs. Man Utd, is he ready? If not, what could you do as a dad or coach to school Man Utd and send them back across the pond with a loss?

Think ahead, say, 2021, ten years from today. MLS All-Star game 2021 at Cowboy Stadium vs. FC Barcelona (one year before the 2022 World Cup).

I believe that a solid team that is used to playing together will usually spank a team of individuals stuck together for an all-star team. The individuals might have an idea how the other individuals play, but it is difficult to overcome the time the other team has put in working together on the same team.

I love this topic!

I have always believed that we have a "generational" deficit to overcome. My sons play ball, and I played Classic D1 in the early 90's. My dad did not play at all and I guarantee that the conversations that I have with my children are more informative than those between my father and I. No doubt, my sons' converstations with their "future" children will be more progressive as well. We didn't have soccer on the tele 24/7 and no professional league to look up to.

Players from the rest of the world have the benefit of grandparents and great grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. that are educated with regards to the game.

It simply takes time, but I do look forward to my grandchildren and their generation (possibly 2024 - 2050). Right now, we are just getting started.

Yeah, formation and talent level...

Not sure what the coaches were thinking lining up in a 4-3-3 against ManU. The MLS probably should have run an 8-1-1
