    Need info on coaches

Post  sweetspot on Thu Aug 04, 2011 11:05 am

I am starting the process of finding my 03 a team and was hoping for some insight from some of the older boys' teams.

Any thoughts are appreciated related to temperament, coaching ability in general, ability to develop, etc.

Also, any specific thoughts on Diego Castro?

Thanks in advance for serious responses (I have an older daughter so I have been on that forum and am aware how funny anonymous individuals think they are!).

If your talking about Castro the one that used to be with TFC and now with Solar? I have heard great things about him. His 03 team talks for his rep. That team is hands down the best 03 team out there.
I don't have a child on his team nor have any affiliation with any of his teams. We have played against his team many times

If your son is a top five player and can compete on any team, he should do well under Castro. There's really not much of a formula for what he does, the better players are allowed to try and make things happen and the not so developed players are considered role players and will spend of the game marking the opposition and being yelled at...

Nuno Passos coaches for Solar Red and is a great coach and great for skills at younger ages,Olgesby is also another solid coach from the Solar Red side,Partain and Castro are from the north side of Solar and castro has a much more proven background for getting the most out of your BB's talent but there are alot of quality coaches out there Jesse Suarez(FCD),Alphonse Ngon(ASG/Andromeda),Danny Alvarez(Tigres)are all great coaches that I have come across but there are others still out there! good luck Cool

Don't know what area you are in, but you should check out the AYSES soccer club in the McKinney/Fairview area.

They have a couple of 03 Boys academy teams with great coaches and are really focused on player development.

If you are in the west near Keller,Southlake, Odyssey has a very good 03 team. Have seen them play a very good style of passing soccer.
