Let the games begin! It appears there will be some strong competitors - Crushers, DT Pomykal, DT Densk, DT South and Solar Red to name a few. I can't wait to see the schedules.

When will the schedules be posted?

Team managers should have 1st weeks schedule already.

How about the entire schedule or will it be one week at a time

From what I was told.........the first 2 weeks will be given out just prior to each weeks games and then the entire schedule by 9-21-09.

Week 2 schedule should be out tonight, and then the rest by the 21st.

The only interesting matchup I see in Week 1 for the 01s is Texans Densk vs. Texans South. Hopefully some of the other top teams will face each other throughout the season. The original poster's list was a good one but you also have to definitely throw in at least one of Partain's Solar teams. It will also be interesting to see how Snell's FCD teams are now that they are back in SDL. Also wish SBFC would play age pure, and what happened to ASG Gold North?

Densk and DT South have played twice before.......1st time Densk won 3-2, 2nd meeting when they played 11v11 at the friendlies....DT South won 4-0. Solar Partain will definitely be in the mix. Should be a very interesting season. Still have two years to get prepaired for classic but the games sure are fun to watch. ASG.....not sure what happened. Maybe they are in hiding! SBFC has a great team......JW has done a great job there.

I guess Densk has two teams now, one playing U10. Not sure how many players are on both or how strong they are compared to each other. Maybe ASG is only playing PAL? Jon has done a good job with SBFC; still can't undertand why he or any others would want to push 11v11 so soon though. The top group of U9 has plenty of competition.

Well you know everyone wants to get a 'jump' on everyone else by the time classic hits. Both of Densk teams were at the friendlies......the second team got pounded 14-0 by DT South......but still plenty of time to turn them around before classic. I think it's good to introduce 11v11 now....can't hurt. These lil guys still have a ton to learn. It's funny to see parents jump ship from their current teams at U9 because they lose a game or two......then when classic hits they are trying to their original team........parents are funny.
Should be an exciting season. Injury free!!

Solar Partain is more than in the mix! They just won the Texas Summer Classic beating SR! Should be a great season...

Partain has a ton of talent and could be considered the team to beat. Did they even lose a game last season?

Solar Partain and DT South had a really good game in that tourney. Solar won 3-2. Great game! Solar Partain, DT South, Crushers, SR , DT Pomykal and Densk should all have some great games playing each other. Who knows who will really show up in SDL with the ever changing rosters. Should be fun to watch. I'm sure there are a couple teams that will surprise some folks.

Solar Dynamo, Texans South and Crushers are very good for the 02 group

From what I have seen the top U8 teams are Solar Dynamo, DT (Densk), and DT South(Adames). Who knows which team will top the U8 division. Unfortunately DT South(Adames) and it also appears that Solar Dynamo 02 maybe playing up in U9. We won't see them in the U8 division.

I'm have been watching the most of the teams and the most just play "kick and run", the winners team win because they are just bigger,faster and stronger .I do not like this style. SBFC and Andromeda red 01 are trying to play "SOCCER" this means move the ball and control the game, I know they maybe will lose now with this style versus the kick an run teams but eventually the development will come with better results, I love the way SBFC plays and win or lose it's no importat right now. I would like to see more teams playing "soccer" and not just the "kick and run" play .

That is interesting. I am not sure what you were watching this weekend or last weekend. You are obviously making excuses for SB and Andro.

I agree with soccer1. Sounds like someone is a sore loser. Balin- you act as if a team is losing, it is because they are developing. Why can't a team win and develop at the same time? Obviously, the teams that beat SBFC & Andro are doing that. Instead of making excuses for SBFC & Andro, you should give credit to the teams that beat them. What is wrong with being "bigger, faster & stronger"? Those are great assets to have in soccer. Obviously, the teams that beat them have that, along with great skills/positioning, especially if SBFC & Andro are playing "SOCCER", as you put it. Players can have both speed & skills and keep improving on those skills to have the best of both worlds. Some just have speed and some don't. The reason that the other teams won is simply because they outplayed and outscored their opponent.

Both these teams definitely play/attempt to play good soccer, but so does everyone else. Good coaches do not teach kick and run. And most of the top academy teams at all age groups make an effort to play good/possession/passinng soccer. Some just more direct than others. But even the most skillful and organized U8/9 teams still have an element of "kicking" the ball. There is a reason the league doesn't keep score. If the coaches/clubs are truly dveloping the players, then both their game/style of play and eventually results will speak for themselves.

ASG Gold North broke up. A few went to Solar Partain, a few went to DT, a few went to TFC Angell. A few quit.

I think the game between the top U8 teams took place this Saturday between DT South 02 and Solar Dynamo 02.
The score was DT South 02 - 5 Solar Dynamo 02 - 2
Even though they are playing up in U9 they are the the teams to beat in the U8 group.
