So, is there really going to be a 19 team d1 and a 7 team d3? Also, if the top 3 in each bracket make d1, isn't unfair that 75% make it out of all the brackets but only 50% from the last bracket?

So during the regular season, each team only plays the other teams once? Next year, do they split the D1 teams in half like Classic does from U11 to U12? Seems like they're watering down the talent in order to take more teams and put more teams in D1 if you ask me. Better to have three divisions and have each game in D1 and D2 mean something instead of having 8-0 games. Anyone know the rationale for this?

There are 22 teams in the tournament for the 2000's.

15 get in, plus the 4 with byes. The other 7 go to D2, but there are also 2 teams that chose to bypass the tournament and go directly to D2.

That means that if this info is correct (that 19 will be in D1), it will be 19 in D1, and 9 in D2 for the 00 boys.

Not sure if its a coincidence or not, but U12, U13, and U14 all have 28 boys teams for PPL (D1 and D2 combined).

The combining 99/98 was a mistake on the website but we too have 19 teams in D1 which seems dumb. Looks like everyone 14 and below(girls and boys) have 19 in D1 and the rest in D2 except U14 girls. This will totally water down D1 for sure. Not sure why they think this is a good idea but I think it sucks. Blow outs will be every where. Fighting and earning for D1 just became a laugh. win one game go to D1. That just makes no sense.

So has PYSA explained the reasoning behind this change? I agree it does not make sense on the surface and I don't see how this helps the stronger teams in D1. It was pretty competitive with 10 teams last year and that allowed you to player your closest competitors twice. With the 00's last year there were about 5 teams after the top 2 spots and it was pretty tight all year. I think head to head competition was the best way to settle it.
