How much are they hitting us up for? Anyone know? Didn't have any games there last year but have the 1st game there this year.

Was five dollars a day during the King Tut. It bugged me at first but after seeing the fields, I would gladly pay this for any tournament my kid plays in. Loved the fields. We grew up playing in mud puddles and burned out fields with suncracks.

Thanks! They are nice fields but I feel that my FC Dallas fees for my oldest help in part for those fields!!

Agreed, if you are already paying the FC Dallas dues, would seem like you guys would get a parking break. I wish more field were this nice throughout the metroplex but it would be hard to keep them that way with the amount of play they get.

    Good luck this weekend.

At last year's PLD it was 7 bucks a day. Don't get me started. Evil or Very Mad

Just go buy (or borrow) a referee shirt and tell the attendants that you are there to do some games Smile

I really hate it too but I calm down immediately when I think about some of the sand lots and rock pits we have played on at out of state tournaments. I have never seen that quality anywhere else.

Already thought of that!! Oldest son is a ref --- but would be travelling with a nice fan base at 6:30am!!

Good luck to all as well. Should be a little cooler than Puma Cup. (and I only thought I was hot at last years PLD!!)

The parking at the PLD has nothing to do with FC Dallas. it is the city of frisco.

Boy I disagree with having to pay. As a resident of Frisco where the city subsidized PHP for about $35M plus the School District put in another $35M this is a complete joke to require us to pay. It is horrible that you should have to pay at the fields - they don't charge for the pro games nor do they charge for the adult games that are played at PHP.

The City of Frisco decided to forego the parking fees FCD used to charge for games and let FCD take credit for it?

Clearly I know nothing about who is getting paid and who is the one doing the charging. But, if my $5 goes to helping keep these fields nice for my kid to play tournaments on, then I am all for it. If, on the other hand, my $5 has nothing to do with helping keep these fields in this shape, then I want a refund!!!!!!

It has zip zero zilch to do with the field maintenance. They will tell you that, but it is just a way to generate an extra couple thousand dollars in a weekend.

George John will earn $42,000 this year as a starting center back for our MLS club. Pay the $5 and enjoy the fields.

Well said Fins, and until the sport grows in this country, big boy programs like Blackburn will continue to try to snatch the good ones like John away. It's an unfortunate situation for MLS on one hand, but it also shows that our system is starting to produce world class players.

origionally you did have to pay parking for the FCD games also. It was negotiated out. The parking is not going to FCD or the fields. But I am sure Frisco is more than willing to let FCD take the blame for it. You could always skip the paid parking and park close by and walk

A little off topic, but I heard the George John deal with Blackburn fell through. Heard it on the Fox Soccer Report last night. Stinks for John as I would have like to see him get to the top level and do well. My kid saw him at an FC Dallas event in Keller last year and went up to him and asked "Do you think you could cover Ronaldo?" George responded, "I don't know but I would like to try." Was a real nice guy.

deal fell thru. Blackburn was able to get a England u21 international so they backed out on him while he was trying to get a visa. A little shady from Blackburn no wonder they are not top level. He is also holding out on his contract with FCD. He is in the last year so could be angling for a free tranfer someplace at the end of the year

Just be very careful of the very small no parking signs that result in very large towing fees

Actually, you can't. All lots will be gated and/or locked. City will tow anyone parking on the streets. The shopping center across Main st was saying they were going to have car-watchers and tow as well. There is no way to avoid paying the 7 bucks. Might as well get it all out of your system now and prepare to be shafted this weekend.

And no, they will not accept 700 pennies as payment either. flower

The fields at PHP are in immaculate condition. Green and soft. Watered to perfection.

    Except the few carpeted fields.

Pay the $, it's worth it.

Having trouble following this thread. So is the jest of this that George John was going to leave for the EPL because NTX youth soccer parents are whining about PHP parking fees at tournaments? And now he is staying because PLD is going to charge $7.00 instead of $5.00?

    What a Face

You got it but the catch was he had to be out there collecting it to cash in on it. So remember to have a pen ready and get an autograph when you shell out your $7. Laughing

Yes, and please donate to other MLS starters holding "Will play for money" signs... Sad

After some further "research", there appears to be truth to this rumor that PHP parking will be free this year. I will probably faint from shock if this comes to pass, but let us be optimistic anyway.

I'd still recommend everyone bring some cash just in case.
