    Klinsmann to instill possession-oriented mentality

    Post  pass2space on Tue Sep 06, 2011 10:08 am

There has been lot of ink on how Torres never heard from Bradley again after World Cup and was thought to not be a good fit and ineffective with the Bradley's style of play. With the Klinsmann experiment and a more possession oriented style of play, it appears El Gringo is on the fast path to becoming the American Xavi for the USMNT.

Looking forward to watching what happens when you add Dempsey to the mix today. Dempsey has always been proud of his Tex-Mex soccer style. A great Dempsey quote from a different interview, “Keep the ball on the ground, move players out of position so you can create chances for yourself,” Dempsey said. “You can’t run and gun growing up in the Texas heat. It’s more about keeping possession and making the other team tired.”

    Wonderful!

    He also needs to instill...

-some "how to play defense" mentality.

-some "get rid of all the pretty boys" mentality.

-some "put the ball in the net on something besides a long ball" mentality.

-and maybe, some get rid of the "I earned my spot because I played ODP" mentality.

It's time to put some players up there that will work their tails off rather than the elite, self-proclaimed "entitled", group that's up there now.

Stop the gd politics and get some guys up there that can play. CRAP! I'm tired of these USA National Team BS players. They've earned nothing, and they've done nothing to earn anyone's respect. They are on Team USA. They have got to be held to a higher standard than what they have been in the past.
