    Post  jack0fspeed on Thu Sep 08, 2011 10:31 am

No one jumps out at me as a clear-cut favorite. A lot of good teams though. Should be a lot of fun.

After 3 games ... and although it's still very early ... there's starting to be a little separation.

    Undefeated teams are:

    FC Bachman Lake
    Olympians
    FCD White
FCD Red (only played 2 games)

In the next couple weeks Bachman, Olympians, and FCD White all play each other. After that we should know a little more. Unfortunately FCD Red doesn't play any of the other currently undefeated teams in the Fall Season.

Was it Bachman Lake that forfeited itself out of the Qualifying Tourney? If so, would be interested to hear what Classic League said to them about trying again next year given that the usual rule it that a team is barred for 2 years (i.e., did CL give any dispensation as a result of some games being rescheduled due to weather issues). Good luck Jack.

Yes ... there were some extenuating circumstances there, the schedule was posted and then changed mid-week. I think the games were moved to earlier in the day due to the heat. Anyway, BL somehow missed the change. Hopefully they've pleaded their case with Classic League. It seemed to have been an honest mistake and two years is a pretty harsh penalty.

(by the way, thanks ... good luck to you as well scrdad)

So the top 2 at the end of the season will play the other 4 teams and the top 2 finishers go to d3 cl?

So who r the favorites or teams exspected to do well?

I don't think there were clear-cut favorites going in. After 3 games a few teams are undefeated and have looked good but not necessarily dominant. So we'll see.

The next two weeks 3 of the undefeateds all play each other, so the team that comes out on top there would have to be considered the early favorite.

Too bad that Plano added to the number of team in D1 this year, it would have been nice to have the top teams playing each other twice and playing each other in the spring. Good Luck all.

What I am curious about is if Classic lets Bachman Lake play in the challenge games if they finish in the top 2, since they forfeited a game at the Classic tournament.
