Re: Week 4 predictions?
Several of these look closer to me than some of these predictions:
I think Babel & FWFC will be a 1 goal game or a tie, and I'm not sure which way it will go if it isn't a tie.
I don't think Waco will win by 4 or more over TFC; I think by not more than 2.
I also think Solar & FCD (Arias) will be about even. Could be a tie.
I like the closer prediction on the FCDP v Kicks game too. I'll guess FCDP by one.
Don't really see Azzurri putting 5 on LP Woody either, although they may win by 3.

Re: Week 4 predictions?
Azzurri is certainly capable of hanging at least 5 goals on Woodberry. It will depend on the service from midfield.
Agree witn M patient on the 4 contenders. Just not necessarily in the same order.
Waco seems to be piling up the goals. Are they that strong an attacking team?

My list of teams were not meant to be a ranking, just the order of the games listed this week.
The goals scored can be deceiving... Waco padded their number by putting up 7 on Ayses when their keeper didn't show and Ayses put up 8 on a weak Liverpool team. Let's see how everyone sits on goal differential after 9 games.

Re: Week 4 predictions?
Good point.
After 3 games though, I'd have to say that Ayses has been the most solid team we've faced.

Re: Week 4 predictions?
After 3 weeks, it appears two teams who advanced out of D3(Azzuri and Waco) are part of the more dominant teams. It seems to me maybe D3 isn't the step child (i.e. weak teams that shouldn't even be trying to compete) that everyone looks down on. While there are some weaker teams in that division, there are also some good teams who are real contenders.

Re: Week 4 predictions?
Good point.
Although it may not be that simple.
Azzurri picked up some new players. (Despite losing a national pool striker.)
Probably a few Plano, Arlington or independent teams that could compete at this level as well.

I hate to burst your bubble...I would not call any team very good or a real contender that gives up 8 goals in three games

Your comment does not say much for the level of play in this league or division.....
Actually, it says more about the quality players missing at the top level that has allowed lower level leagues and teams to more easily move up the ladder....thus providing some of the parents a false since of granger. I'll continue to watch your teams and see if they play in any major tournaments or in anything other than the silver brackets of week tournaments.
I'll be back to post in another year. Best of luck to you guys and your teams.
PS...Laimport thank you for every time you post something about Azzurri you include the reminder (Despite losing a national pool striker.) Everyone now knows it. Let it go!

And yet, they lead the division(d2). Sorry, BS, I have to disagree. If you read my post, I said there were some teams that are weaker. But just because a team is in D3 doesn't mean they are bad. nor is every player in D3. I have seen good players there, and some poor players. So, get off your high horse!

Ok you made a liar out of me…I’m back again. I agree with you there are some good players and possibly some really good teams in all leagues and at all divisions. However, real good teams whether they are in D1, D2, D3, PPL, PA or DA do not give up 8 goals in 3 games. Really good teams do not play in silver brackets of second rate tournaments. The real good teams play at the highest level possible. I also believe that some of the players that appear to look really good are not as good as they appear due to the level of talent they are playing against.
Again to make sure there is no misunderstanding… I do believe there can be some real good players on teams playing at the lower levels. They are usually the exceptions not the norm. Hopefully, that clears up my stance on the really good players and really good teams.

Re: Week 4 predictions?
Swoosh, you come off as being slightly arrogant.
I've mentioned the 'national pool striker' thing twice. The point of bringing it up serves two purposes.
First, yes, there are exceptional players on 'weaker' i.e. lower level teams. You make a valid point there.
By "weaker" tournaments, I assume you are talking about Plano labor Day?
While I'm on the subject, if you think there wasn't an "overlap" of team quality between 'gold' and silver brackets...you are completely delusional. it's just that the seeding committee took the path of least resistance and assumed that some out of state teams were better than the d2/d3 classic league teams.
if you're implying that all the best players are now playing 'preacademy' you're wrong there as well.
While I can concede that the level of play may be slightly watered down (and I posted an earlier thread on this subject) there are certainly some D1/PA "caliber" players currently rostered on D2 and D3 teams.
Might be a handful, but they are there.
I find humor in the prevailing local attitude that the quality of a player is equated automatically with whatever 'big name' club or team he happens to be rostered on.
Absolute BS!
Big Swoosh, my guess is that you are either a PA "dad" or a coach.

He can't answer more than once a year because he has to use a thesaurus to look up the difference between "granger" and "grandeur."
