    Agree with your outcomes except:
not Texans over Tejanos; suspect that one is backward.
    RM and Tigres - even

I agree. The Tejanos have prooven to be tough. I'm sure that DT doesn't have the speed in the back to handle the long ball and runs that DFW will put through to the fast forward. DFW takes that one.

I know it's knit picking but I don't see TFC getting on the board either. Poor Reagan thrown into that disaster.

We need a 98 D3 "expert" to round out this thread. Takers?

Oh, and what about Games of the Week? In D1, has to be the two RM games. Crucial weekend for RM's title hopes, no?
And in D2, has to be the battle of the newbies. Azzurri needs an upset or at least a tie to keep pace.

Uh, I don't think Azzurri beating Waco would be considered an "upset". The biggest win Waco has had thus far has been against Ayses. And that was without their keeper.

D3 can be summed up pretty quickly:

Guameru & Hawks will qualify for D2.
FCD WTX has some studs on their team but will not crack the top two spots.
The next three teams (DT WTX & both Andro's)are just a hodge podge of mediocre soccer.
The best battle will be between the bottom four teams (OCU, Premier, LHU and Inter) to see who stays up.

Well, Waco is 4-0 and sitting alone in first, while Azzurri is 2-1-1 and in 3rd . . . .

Well, 'free', glad you brought it up. 3 of the 4 teams Waco has played are in the bottom 4. In fact, the only team they have played thus far is Ayses. And, their keeper was out...and still allowed what, 5 goals?

    And they barely beat Texans?

    C'mon...how about adding some substance?

Well, I guess there is no need to play the games then...it's all been decided. Thanks for the awesome summary.

The Azzurri/Waco game wasn't even close. (Other than the scoreline.) Azzurri outshot, outpossessed and had countless "raids" into the Waco penalty area.

Waco, as a whole are the biggest and most athletic team in D2 I've seen so far. However, Azzurri dominated possession and was clearly better technically and tactically. At least today.

Hmm, wow, I thought it was a good game. Not sure I agree that the game "wasn't even close." From my perspective, it appeared to be a game of halves (based in part on the wind). I recall the Waco keeper being called on to make one save during the first half (as Waco had the wind), and during the first half Waco scored their only goal. I will concede that Azzurri's dominance second half (with the wind) was significantly more pervasive than Waco's had been first half, and the score line 2-1 demonstrated that. Tyler's two goals both happened to be scored second half.

As Tyler's coach said at the end of the game, "We'll see you in the Spring."

Yes, it was a good game. Although the wind was a factor, both teams had to deal with it. Certainly you aren't suggesting it cost Waco the game?

But, I certainly remember Azzurri knocking on the door within the first few minutes of the 1st half. Shot hit the post.

I don't remember more than 3 shots on goal in the 2nd half from Waco. While Azzurri was getting into Waco's penalty area quite often. Almost at will. Especially #23.

So with possession, shots, etc. it was definitely a one sided game. Especially the 2nd half.

That said, plenty of room for improvement with the Azzurri.
