Okay, I'll bite....not just a 99 subject though....so are the rumors true that CL is going "age pure" for age divisions next year? If so, how will they implement/transition?

Don't see CL blowing up every team in the league. Also wouldn't that mean quitting NTSSA.

    Still here....

Update on where I think teams will end for the Fall.

    SR 25 points
    DTS 22 points
    DTR 17 points
DT 16 points (I'll take the bet, Axx)
    Barca 16 points
    Titans 10 points
FCD 10 points (shaky on this one, could finish with 7)
    FCD-C 8 points
FCDY 5 points (could move to 8 points after this week)
    Comets 0 points

Good luck to all in the last 3 games!!

Still here, OS! I agree with OTRS on the end of Fall season pics.

Also, don't see Classic going age pure. That being said, we still need to blow up the entire developmental system. NTX and the US...

CL league is following NTX rules which means NTX has to go age pure as well. I don't see that happening anytime soon.

If they really want to go age pure, the way to do it would be to start with the youngest team, and "grow it up," with each passing year.

I can't remember what I was gonna bet now? The last two games have hurt us no doubt. I don't think you will find anyone that doesn't think we should have won that game against DTR. And this past weekend we had some similar issues and played a good game that could have gone either way but had two scored on us on breakaways initiated by mistakes in the middle on our part. But all that baloney aside, the outcomes are the outcomes and the rest is history. It will come down to our game against SR and if we can wake up and the game between DTR and the Titans. If the Titans can manage a win or tie, it may re-arrange a couple the 3 and 4 spots. But quite honestly, unless we start playing better and turn things around a bit, we don't deserve to go to Dallas Cup anyway so we shall see what happens. Lets just say I'm prepared to be disappointed but not giving in just yet...

The inconsistencies this year have been created by academy league as it has created a classic league that's not truely apples to apples between all teams. And with our age group really being the first ones going though it, it has been a learning experience. And we are not done yet, because next year the 99 birth years may choose to go academy league and some 98s may opt to try out as well. As some of the top kids get better and move on, classic league will keep getting watered down, assuming academy league keeps growing and hopefully getting better.

The bet was DT would end with 17 or 19 points.

PA has watered down CL and will continue to. I predict lots of 99 birth year boys will go to PA next year although I think it is a mistake for those boys development. Those born Jan. - July currently play boys born in 98 (Aug- Dec). They will trade that to play current 00s (Aug - Dec 99 birth year). The speed of play they currently play in CL will diminish for them. Even ODP has started to divide out first 6 mos birthdate and last 6 mos birthdate for try-outs.

I see no incentive for a Jan. - July birthdate to move to PA, but they will, for the allure.

I'm still here, just lurking on another more exciting thread. The 04 and 03 parents are the new whackos in town. We've been suffering from soccer withdrawal syndrome. One bb in a cast, one whose games are all over the place, and another at Richland. I've cleaned my house, inside and out at least three times already, and even painted our door the same color as before. I'll join ya, Omega, once we're back in action.
Not to sound like an old lady reminiscing, but I sure miss those Richland days, when it was free to attend the games! PreAcademy bb had a game this weekend, but we had to be out of the house by 7 am, and I had to scrape up $5 to watch him, so I just rolled back to sleep. Sleep

Haven't paid a dime yet to get into a game. Sounds like some team is trying to shake their parents and opponents parents down.

Never once said I was the authority. Just had an opinion that brought about discussion. Besides nothing to see here, just go back to posting the scores and bland predictions omega. It's a ghost town because it's boring. Nobody has any opinions, thoughtful topics, questions or commentary or at least affraid to give it. Maybe somebody could post pre academy scores and predictions. Thats some racy, out of the box stuff for the boards.

It's an interesting and complex debate to say the least and I'm not sure there's a good answer that suits most. At the end of the season it would be interesting to do a truely anonymous poll involving the older 99 kids and younger 98 families that went pre academy and ask their thoughts. My guess is that a good majority wouldn't do it the same way again for reasons from both groups that you have mentioned. The training is likely better for the younger group but not so sure about the older group. And the games can't be as much fun for the younger group especially when they are not playing as the dominating group they used to be or getting half as much playing time. I'll leave the Andromeda group out of that because I can't see any advantages to them being in pre academy at this time. Lots to ponder.

    I concur Axx cheers

Not sure. I just know that it costs $5 per adult and $3 per child. Haven't asked why or what for, yet.

Nice try. Never said it was perfect, just that you are not the authority you think you are.

Oh, Go. You are too modest. We all know your soccer knowledge far exceeds anyone else on this board. Were you whispering in Klinsman's ear during their recent match against Ecuador? I'm surprised at the result with all your vast expertise. Your system will take time, I guess. I'm sure you'll have them winning soon.

Yes I ask that you have some patience. My plan will have them winning in about 10 yrs. Brek Shea is just the beginning of my efforts as the "shadow" coach
