    Winter Indoor

    Post  odie1993 on Mon Oct 24, 2011 2:20 pm

With the leagues winding down for the fall, it is time to look at indoor for the winter. Where (if you know yet) are you guys planning to play. Recently it seems that all the 03s are scattered and no one gets to play in a really good league.

We have had to play up to get a little bit of competition with the limited number of teams.

So please speak up if you know where a team (or teams) are playing this season. I would love to watch some good competitive games this indoor season.

A lot of the top '03 teams compete at the Inwood facility in Addison over the Winter. It's typically a great league. Too bad the turf is so bad.

that place is such a hole. they have not replaced that turf in 10 years at least. worse if you are in the dome.

Well they just replaced the turf. It's the short stuff but pretty nice. I think you could have added 20 more yrs to the 10 above before that. Same stuff i played on as a kid and i'm old. It's the last season in the bubble for the 03's.

that is good to hear that they finally replaced it. short stuff i do not like but it does not bother me. and I said 10 years because that is the length of time i have been in the DFW area. Smile

With U9 outdoors being 9v9 and rosters adjusting as such, its a little tough to go back and play 7v7 in the bubble. Purely from a numbers standpoint. And the field is a little small for 7 U9 kids on it. Other places you can play 8v8 on a much bigger field.

FIS is open. Great place to play. You can go a whole season playing good games then a mysterious team will show up every time for the semi's and finals with beards and mustaches and you end up losing 10-0.

Not sure where the team is from though.. They disappear into the night after the games, never to be seen again until the next end of the season championship!! Shocked Laughing

Good games? I can't remember my child breaking out a sweat in that place. We played up and still couldn't get much competition.

Are you talking about Frisco Indoor Sports? What about the large field? Seems that would be a good place to play.

Odyssey is playing @ Game On in White Settlement. Out in sticks. But decent U9/U10 competition.

If you are interested in playing futsal, City Futsal's Winter League starts on December 3rd andhave many great 03 teams already participating: Texans South/Sal Adames, Ayses/Sammy Olaili, FCD/Jon Waters....to name a few.
City Futsal directors Esteban and Manuel Mariel are current members of the U.S. Futsal National teams and are focused on teaching and promoting futsal in the metroplex. Worth looking in to: cityfutsal.com

No Inwood, is really bad, the score board didn't work most of the time, couple of times when it was working, the guy encharge of it, was taking naps!!!!!!!! wtf????. One other time the refere, before the game, was totally horizontal, sleeping, the kids were getting concern, thinking that may be he was dead. hate the place, but Texans keep taken us there.

Odyssey is also playing U10 at Stampede in Southlake. We pick locations specifically to avoid seeing anybody else that we know in this age group.
