Thought all of you soccer enthusiasts would like to know that two local soccer products, Esteban and Manuel Mariel, were named to the U.S.Futsal National team and played in the premier international invitational Grand Prix de Futsal tournament in Manaus Brazil this past month of October.
The team played futsal powerhouses Uruguay and Iran in group play, as well as Belgium, Holland and Costa Rica.
The team was brand new and had not had a chance to play a single game until they arrived in Manaus. And although they didn't win, the experience was tremendous. Playing in front of 30,000 fans and against the cream of the crop futsal teams in the world was tremendous.In the final Brazil beat russia 3-2.
Esteban and Manuel are back and ready to continue with their City Futsal futsal training programs in the Dallas area, to share the experience of futsal played at the highest level, and to teach all those who want to learn.
