My oldest was playing a team in PPL that had two boys wear completley different jerseys( and shorts with no numbers) than the rest of the team. Our manager brought this to the ref's attention. He talked to the coach and the coach told him that PPL said it was okay so the ref took his word for it. Ref said he checked and both boys were on the roster. Does anyone know if this is allowed?

Re: Do uniforms have to match?
Im guessing your kids team lost? I've never read that all jerseys have to match exactly, etc. unless its club standards. Seen plenty of that. Down to the sliders....

Re: Do uniforms have to match?
NTX rules state that jerseys must be the similiar color and each must have a number that does not match that of another player. Thats it. Nothing about shorts or socks. The kids came to play. You really want to be given a win because someones uniform did not match?

I can see how if you have two kids wearing completely different outfits from the rest of the team, it could raise a legitimate question as to whether those kids are rostered to that team.
Of course, if a team is so bold as to play with illegal players, they will have already "fixed" the roster as required so that those kids (or at least whatever names teh kids gave) appear on it.

Maybe they are new additions to the team, with all the proper paperwork. They just dont have the club uniforms yet, usually takes a couple weeks to get a new uniform kit.

Re: Do uniforms have to match?
Just got back from Houston - had to lend the other team a couple of our home jersey's so their team could have consistent uniform colors. The bottom line with things like this is:
Do you want to play the game or not. I've never heard of a coach who cared what the other team was wearing (with the exception of the keeper's jersey).

I think that's right, although everyone seems to get stricter as the kids get older. Once you get over the question whether the kids are on the team, exact jersey match seems a little pointless.

Re: Do uniforms have to match?
Well it is good to know that two players coming off their bench wearing black and white jerseys while the rest of the team has white jerseys on, scores their only goals shouldn't set off any red flags since "we are all just hear to play the game."

Why don't you tell us what team you're accusing of cheating Ace, maybe we can all help you identify the kids and return your team to PPL glory?

I am not accusing anyone of cheating. If you read the title of my email it says "Do your uniforms have to match?" Your assuming we lost the game as well. You know what happens when you ASSUME right?

So what you are saying is: When you assume, you forget how to spell, punctuate and generally use proper grammar?

Re: Do uniforms have to match?
Our team is only an 02 team, but I've seen it plenty of times when there are two players on the field with the same number, or different uniforms on. We had one game that the goalie was wearing the exact color of our jerseys, and the ref said it was ok because he had white socks on and we had blue and the ref could tell the difference. But could our players? No. I do understand new players or other excuses. It does make me question the team if the players' uniforms don't match though.

Re: Do uniforms have to match?
Based on what I have seen this year in classic league and in a couple of tournaments I've basically given up. Anyone should be able to play on any team he feels like and in any age group that he chooses each week. Oh yeah, he should also be able to wear whatever he wants. Uncle.
