This year in high school will be different without some of those academy kids however....if it works out well then we may see some good team play. South Lake won last year with good team play and a lot of heart. They had some outstanding players but they played as a team. Let the games begin.

Know of two, one in 4A and one in 5A, each a very high quality player. I am sure there are more.

Agreed. While High School soccer will take a hit from DA, there is still a lot of talent from boys that certainly could have gone DA, but chose not to for a variety of reasons.

well so far for 5-A....8-5A seems to be a strong district...I think Hebron, Allen, FM Marcus, and Plano will fight for top spot....7-5A is a close second and the early over-all “Fav” seems to be Coppell, they utilize their speed well and should make a good run towards state. 9-5A Berkner sits atop the Dallas schools and boasts an impressive win over Southlake, but they haven’t played Jesuit yet. 10-5A Boyd should take their district...have not seen any of the other teams play yet…in 4-A Lovejoy looked well balanced but seems they lost their top player…Has anyone watched Turner or Prosper?...any other thoughts or comments on games watched?

I was an early fan of Boyd, but after watching them play, not so much. They struggle to maintain possession and rely too much on size and speed to finish the ball. Teams I'm looking forward to watching soon is Jesuit, Southlake and Gall.

Good synopsis CH1. There will be a couple of darn good teams in 8-5A left out of the playoff hunt that could easily win most other districts. Too bad they can only take 4.

Hmmm. Don't agree entirely. I reffed the Boyd/Jesuit scrimmage and it was very evenly matched (1-1). It will depend on how each team gels during the year.

Hap, I watched Boyd vs Arlington Sam Houston play to a 0-0 draw. Both teams played a very clean game. Sam Houston has a pretty good defense. Their offense needed to pass more in the attacking third to setup a finishing shot. Boyd couldn't get behind the defense consistently.
