Additionally, not sure it is the best tactic to air your grievance here on this forum. I have a feeling the people on that team can figure out who you are and after the coach reads this, you may not have a choice in staying. Not sure many coaches would appreciate the posts you have made.[/quote]

I would bet the coach and the other parents already know that someone isn't happy! And sometimes the coach won't release you even if you ask nicely, so it may be that making it public is the only way to get freedom? Or at least feels like it?

You are probably right and I bet they know this poster is unhappy with the team. However, I think it is an 03 team in Academy so no contracts and they leave whenever they want. Better to do it now than when they sign a contract and then options would be limited.

However, what is most discerning is that the "parents" are running this organization. Do not choose this club if you cannot handle parents running the club. This place is so disorganized, but at this time-- I am going along with the politics only because my child can handle this. Otherwise, I'd stay clear of this club if money or distance is not an issue. We are from another team, we do feel "guilty" but, our child has many opportunities within this metroplex, was on a losing team but now starting with a top 3 team. What bothers me most are the parents. They treat you as if you are family, yet speak horribly about other players while the parent/parents backs are turned (about the other players that are quite good), This is quite uncomfortable.

Your comments show an extreme lack of sound judgment. To condemn a whole club because of one set of parents is inaccurate and wrong. You say in other posts that the parents are two faced, back stabbing liars and accuse the coaches of being unresponsible and commiting mental cruelty. Then you say you leave the decision to stay in this environment to your 8 year old son because he likes to win. Been around long enough to spot where the the red flags pop up here.

Offsidesdad wrote:Yes, Odyssey 03's. One of the top teams (SDL 1). But the parents are so obnoxious between them screaming (sideline coaching) at the boys during the games as well as making rude comments about the mistakes the boys make (during the games) it has become very difficult to keep my BB here. Between that and the screaming demeaning coach, I'd like to get my boy out. However, he is a major player here and he loves to win. The coach/assist. coach is rutheless. I'm doing some research as to where to relocate him. Need a strong coach, but one with patience. A nice group of parents would be ideal as well.

My bb plays for a strong coach and with a great set of parents. This team has been playing in the 02boys league this past fall and I know coach is looking for 1/2 strong players to add and develop. Do not know where you are out of but this team trains in Plano.

This persons description of Ody 03 has enough tidbits that's it's evident that they are not completely unfamiliar with the club. Yes, the coach is loud. Yes, there are too many players for everyone to play in every indoor game so they play in 2 leagues and rotate showing up so only 10 kids are at each game. That's no secret. We have some new kids. A few are plug-n-play kids, some are more behind. We lost some solid kids. As with every team some parents are loud, some probably gossip, and there is a manager/parent who has to make a lot of logistical decisions. But the whole story is inconsistent. They are not going to get asked to leave because there is nobody who meets this persons description of themselves.

I just went ahead and asked the newer parents who fit any part of this description if they had any issues. Nope. At the least this person is lying about some things, either here or to my face at training or via email. At worst this person is somebody not on the team who left extremely disgruntled ( can only think of one) or otherwise has an axe to grind, apparently in the 00 forum.

So take with a grain of salt. If I am wrong, offsidedad, please contact me. This club and team has flaws but I think there is a real commitment to trying to deliver a good product.

    Cheers

No followup. Seems about right. Somebody on a red team pissed about losing a player? Amazed anybody cares enough to run a Sterling Archer Black Flag op over 8yr old soccer, but go with your skills. Guess we'll see you next time you have a few drinks at 1am, bro. Merry Xmas to all.
