Rookie question on High School and Club

Post  frequent flyer on Sat Dec 31, 2011 11:33 am

Just curious, do the boys who play in a club team, play for their high school as well? How does that work with training and game schedules?

Many players can and do play both club and high school. For U15-U17, the club season begins March 25th. If your high school team is in the playoffs, then this could cause a player to have to leave a high school practice and then go to club practice. If there is a HS playoff game, then you might miss a practice if it is scheduled on that day.

For U14, it is a little more of a conflict since they start club games on Feb 4th. The best answer is to talk to both coaches. My son has Football for the last period, then soccer practice afterschool, then club on two nights a week. Tough schedule. Some club teams stop practicing during high school, some only have one practice a week, and some never slow. That's why it's best to talk to the coaches.

yes they do usually play both UNLESS your kid plays for the FCD academy which they are NOT allowed to play for the HS matter of fact they have their own HS to go to thats required! Shocked
