Just so that FC Dallas Francisco parents and directors know, I noticed that the field directors for the tournament were watching the FCD parents for misconduct today.

Texas Winter Classic
So far so good. The semi-finalists have earned their spots. FC Dallas Francisco vs. AYSES gold, TFC vs Solar Clark. Prediction is FC Dallas vs. TFC in the final. Yet another battle with two pretty equally matched teams, hopefully.
Just so that FC Dallas Francisco parents and directors know, I noticed that the field directors for the tournament were watching the FCD parents for misconduct today.

I'm not sure if I agree with the statement...............two equally matched teams.

Re: Texas Winter Classic
Just showing the other team some courtesy. Probably giving them a lot to say that the teams are equal.
But the scores have been close the last two times. Unlike their other games which were blowouts this tournament.

Re: Texas Winter Classic
I think FCD will take it, but the semifinal matches were intersting TFC really moves the ball well in my opinion. Good skills. Fcd was some strong players, and lots of support on the sidelines. The FCD team had several kids with huge corner kickes goal high on the back post. Very impressive.
Dont know much about that Solar team. They had to play hard defense but hung in there against both tfc (3-1 loss) and Ayses (3-2 loss).
By the way, what league does the fcd team play?

Re: Texas Winter Classic
FC Dallas south/Francisco was clearly the better team and deserving champion. Don't get me wrong TFC is good team, but they just need to accept they lost, move on and that's it. Just so everyone knows, this team is registered for SDL and EAL for the upcoming season. I'm sure every team wants to get better but can they just let the kids play??? Why is it, that NO parent from FC Dallas is here doing any talking in this forum?. It's just TFC parents!!! Come on, move on and be a professional about it. Know that there are more teams from the south coming up and they are coming strong so get used to that. Everyone have a good day.

Re: Texas Winter Classic
TFC played the game without our coach, because all three of his teams were in finals games, and he could not attend. We also played without our goalie, because he was sick. Both goals scored were lucky and had nothing to do with skill. Both teams played hard. It was really excellent, aggressive soccer on both sides. And both sets of parents behaved themselves.

Re: Texas Winter Classic
Ok, I will bite. As an FC Dallas/Francisco parent, first let me say that TFC played a great game and moved the ball well. They outplayed us today. Our boys were disorganized and lackluster the first 2/3, but had some great offensive passes and toughed it out to score late. They played much better against TFC the day before.
However, (and this is a big however) I don't think our two goals were "lucky". The first goal was done after a missed corner kick opportunity on a great pass from the midfielder to the left forward with a beautiful header. Believe me, our boys practice header goals, and have scored this way often...skill, not luck, by a passionate 9 year old, assisted by a great pass. The second goal relied more on being there and producing on mistakes by defense/goalie (it happens that way in the pros sometimes too, folks).
In response to another reference: FCD "has some strong players", 9 of our kids scored goals in this tournament. That's a wide array. Also, I am pretty sure we allowed the least goals from opposing teams, which would speak for a defense that can produce (pretty or not
). Our parents are definitely passionate (and loud), it took me a while to get used to it too, but they are directing their energy to their own kids and calls on the field, NOT the other teams parents or players.
All in all, a fun tourney. We look forward to playing TFC in future tournaments. They are an elegant team, and our boys can learn a lot playing against them. Dare I say that TFC can learn a little about passion and aggressive offense from us? Isn't that the point? The boys all learn from playing against these different styles, picking up skills and trying new things out??
Cheers ya'll! It is fun, win or lose.

Re: Texas Winter Classic
That is exactly my point madisonmyers, You cannot accept that TFC lost. Lucky or not lucky, they are goals and they counted. As far as I know all the goals that TFC has scored on FC Dallas has been by PK. Again let's stop making excuses and accept the outcome. They are kids... Is it ever enough to satisfy you? Do you feel better because to your eyes the goals were lucky? Is that what you teach your son? Come on let's grow up and face it. They lost and that's it.

Re: Texas Winter Classic
LOL!!! Nice comments, parents from FC Dallas. Yes, good game. But I think if you guys were actually realistic parents, you would recognize that TFC out played you today. Congrats on winning BUT I would rather my son play for a team that had dignity. The parents from FC Dallas AGAIN disgraced the game today. FC Dallas has alreay given their team a bad reputation not only with other clubs but referees as well. It is just sad. The way FC Dallas plays represents not only the club, coach but parents as well. Look out anyone who plays against this team. Dirty players and Disgraceful parents.

Re: Texas Winter Classic
Soccerfever, who is playing in the field? Parents or players? No REF goes into a game thinking they will punish such team because the bad reputation you say they created. Are you one of those parents that also think that TFC should have won? I'm sorry but if FC Dallas won today was because they probably showed they wanted it more. It's simple, all boys from both sides have skills, do you agree? Or did FC Dallas won because they lacked Skills? Come on... As far as the parents, to my knowledge they behaved well and even madisonmyers said that in her previous imput since they were on the sidelines? What team were you watching? Come on, move on and stop splashing more poison just to justify your comments. Again, let's all mature and really think what we are doing. Remember and this goes for everyone, we are here for our kids isn't? Or are you here just so that you could say ignorant things? With all due respect, let's stop this parents misbehaving crap. This is just to justify the outcome. Why is it that some parents just cannot accept they got beat? Again this is a kids game not parents playing in the field.

I think the kids would be ashamed if they knew their parents were carrying on like this. After the games, and after the kids shake hands, they pat each other on the back and go back to being kids. The parents could learn a lot from them.

Re: Texas Winter Classic
It is my understanding that FC Dallas South will be playing in the Legacy Freedom Cup tournament next week and TFCLarry will be there as well. That's good for the boys to have competition. All teams get better and see their weakness by playing tough good teams. I guess in the many more tournaments to come, there will always be parents from TFC always referring the bad parents that FC Dallas has just because the dislike and cannot accept other teams winning against their boys. I hope they stop that because they too might start a reputation of being whiners. I respect both sides to the fullest because I'm sure some parents from TFC does NOT share the same thoughts as the likes from soccerfever. Everyone, this was a great tournament. Let's be positive.

I agree. It's time to sleep. I'm all for a good competition and gods honest rivalry and that is all we should be discussing here and NOT nonsense comments. Quite frankly, if you are about to write something ignorant, keep away from this adult website and take your comments elsewhere. Good night to all

Wow, this is an aggressively negative site. Sounds like part of enjoying soccer is not coming/commenting here.

If you think this site is aggressive, you should check out the girls forum. They make the boys forum look like a church group.

Um, disagree. Fields in FB were like rolling meadows, with the occasional pile of dirt. They need to do some winter seeding at Fairview to avoid all the thatch and dirt that got kicked up because of the wind. Fields are good and flat there, but winter seeding is customary even at most Rec fields. Maybe we're just spoiled in our neck of the woods.
Tournament other than that was good. Seems well run, people in charge are cordial, organized. We are 2 for 2 out there, so we'll be going back

My boys play for AYSES and I can tell you that the drought really hurt us this year. The City of Fairview would not allow us to water at all. To make matters worst our pond was dried up. Pray more more moisture to come to North Texas. Can't control the wind.

No problem. Yes it is going to be a wonderful facility. Tell me about it, we live in Fort Worth and train there 2X a week. But we love it!
