    Legacy Freedom Cup

Post  LiverpoolFCA on Fri Jan 27, 2012 3:48 pm

At this time, all Legacy Freedom Cup BOYS tournament games for tonight, FRIDAY night have been canceled due to city of Lewisville's decision to close the fields.
The city has determined that the fields are still too wet to play.
Please let your teams and volunteers know as quickly as possible.
We will have an update regarding the Saturday and Sunday games shortly.

    Teams,

Thank you for your patience. Unfortunately, the city of Lewisville has closed the fields for the weekend. While we are all disappointed with the decision, Liverpool has been successful in finding a new venue for the majority of the tournament.

We are delighted to announce that we have secured the Fairview Soccer Complex in Fairview for the weekend. With the help of the Ayses soccer club and a lot of dedicated people, we believe the complex will offer a great opportunity for the tournament to play. At this time, all U-10 through U-14 teams will play this weekend at the Fairview Soccer complex.

For all other age groups, including U-7, U-8, U-9 and our U-15/ 16 teams, we will go back to the original Legacy Freedom Cup format of playing both girls and boys teams together next weekend. While we apologize for any inconvenience, we are confident that this solution will provide a great weekend of soccer for all of our teams.
Schedules will be posted by 9:00pm tonight for Saturday and later this evening for Sunday. Please check our website www.liverpoolfcamerica.com and your e-mails frequently for details and for more information.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you on the fields.

    Best Regards,

    LiverpoolFCA

I just wanted to give a big high five to legacy freedom cup, for going out of there way to make sure that this tournament happens and for thinking about the CUSTOMER... they could have easily cancelled the tournament and kept more than half of the registration money, I promise any other tournament would have....

exactly. they refunded something upwards of 75-80% of entry fees last year. Above and beyond what many other tournaments do.

It is very apparent that you have no clue of what they did last year, they gave back well over the 50% that every other tournament does. I believe we received 70% back from last years. Maybe you should get your facts correct coaches pet.

    Length of Games mistakes

Post  gsterbenz on Mon Jan 30, 2012 1:00 pm

I am glad the tournament was had. Unfortunate the conditions at AYSES were not good but we played and had fun. What really bothered me was the inconsistency of the Freedom cup officials when it came to stated rules.

AS U10 Academy the rules state 2 x 25 min halves. We played our first game just as that. We played our 2nd game as 2 x 30. We confronted the refs in the 29th min and they stated the tournament director stated U10 ws 30 min halves.

We called BS on them and spoke directly to the tournament director. He claimed "ALL" Games were 30 min halves. Which of course we disputed. I mean how do you play just 25 mins if the halves are supposed to be 30.... HE finally appologized and that the rest of the games would be 30 halves.

Guess what, Our 3rd game was 25 min halves. SO much for sticking to the plan.

In our case this did not matter. However, I know Liverpool Rush and FCD SOUTH ended with the same points and this discrepency could have easily caused a 2nd and 3rd place mistake to happen. We played 25 mins with RUSH and what if FCD played more games as 30. Advantage FCD in that case..... In one of our games we had 2 goals scored on us in post 25 min play.

A major blunder in my book. HOpefully they will have consistency with the GIRLS this weekend.

Again that's all anyone would be looking for

Post  Marvelousmar on Mon Jan 30, 2012 1:24 pm

Is consistency. But I won't go there today. Since I am trying to get into a better mood then I was yesterday. I know that a lot of things happend this last weekend but hopefully one learns from their mistakes and corrects it going forward.
