Anyone taken a look at the PAL Dallas Gold division this season? Only one team from a big club (FCD Spencer), two teams from smaller clubs (Odyssey & FC Southlake) and the rest are independent teams (Dallas Tigres Ortiz, Piamonte, Aguilas, Tigres, Oak Cliff Zorros, Texas Toros and Wizards).
I do see in the Dallas North Gold division there are more big club teams (2 ASG's, 2 Andro's, CCO & 1 DT team).
Where are the rest of the DT, FCD & Solar teams? (I do see a Solar Red in the West-gold division, and if that's Adames boys, what are they doing over there? They are too good to be playing against that sub-par competition.)
I may be reading too much into this, but to me it seems like the big clubs are now focused on 11 v 11 and decided to forego a season of 9 v 9. Is this a result of the pressure to win in Classic next year? I rather have my bb play more 9 v 9 & small sided games at this age. I see no advantage of jumping into 11 v 11 so soon for those kids. Yes they may be ahead of these groups in their 11 v 11 play come Tryouts, but at the expense of individual development.
Kudos to all the teams that are still playing 9 v 9.....
