    96 Classic posting scores

    Post  soccerdad1 on Mon Mar 01, 2010 6:01 pm

It seems this division always gets their scores posted last. Except for Saturday games, when the scores where actually posted by Saturday evening, the results are never posted in a timely manner. Sunday's games were all completed by noon I believe, but still no Sunday results. Does this aggravate anyone else?

Nah, doesn't bother us. If we want to know bad enough, we find out before we leave the fields. If your kid has played in Classic long enough, he probably knows at least one person well enough on each field to find out. Most of these boys have been playing together and against each other for years.
In this age group it really doesn't matter. Have you ever noticed the only people who talk about 96 soccer are the PPL? This summer will be a complete turnover with the Academy team coming up. Teams won't look anything like this next year.

I agree with Soccerdad1. If the team managers have deadlines to report scores, why shouldn't the CL board members have a deadline to report the results? My kid has played CL for years & follows the standings very closely. This age group matters just as much as any other age group to the kids who are playing in it.

I'm with you Soccerdad. Ridiculous. No reason they shouldn't post what they have by the night the games are played. And no it shouldn't be up to me or my kid to run up and down Richland and then make calls to PHP to find out scores. A quick check on the internet the morning following the game should be enough.

Email the commissioner that posts the scores for U14 D1 and D3 at soccerdad93@sbcglobal.net and tell them what you think. I emailed them two weeks ago when the scores were not posted for 4 days and got several excuses in a reply email, but they posted them right after my email.

Sorry, Just thought they might want to know what people are thinking about the late posts. The email address is posted on the Classis League website, so I did not think it was that big of a deal. It won't happen again.

Major etiquitte breach, no I don't believe so. In about 10 seconds you can have the email for everyone on the Classic League Board. Here, I will make it easy...http://www.ccsai.org/cl_board.php

This may be very hard for an information guru like you to believe but most people will not make the effort to find it. I stand by my statement. You do not post the personal email of volunteers on forums or blogs.

Then volunteers should do the job they volunteered for. Post the scores and if you do not want to bother having to post them the don't volunteer. Post emails away and maybe if he get's eough emails he will post the scores in a timely fashion.

Oh, how foolish of me. Your right, volunteers should not have a life. And if for some reason they can not get it right every time then just kick them to the curb. There are always people lined up as far as the eye can see waiting to take their place.

no just don't volunteer for things that you don't want to do. Being a volunteer is no excuse to do a job poorly. The job was poorly done. Scores from sunday did not go up until tuesday, the 99's scores were up by sunday night and the 96 scores are consistently far behind.

Well then volunteer and you can check your email on the hour all Sunday night and Monday waiting for the scores to come in. Then when they don't all come in you can post them one at a time while constantly calling the volunteer managers and telling them how poor a job they are doing and that they should quit if they can't do better. Then you can volunteer for that too!!! You put volunteer soccer tasks ahead of family and career if you want but don't rake others over the coals because their life does not stop because the youth soccer scores took 36 hours to be posted.Gimme a break! Same attitude with this as when I was a volunteer, put up or shut up.

This is why more people don't step up to volunteer. Cut 'em some slack. They eventually do get posted.

Classic league has all the managers call in the scores within 1 hour of the game being final (and also any red cards). There is a reason why they have the managers do this which is to get the scores posted. I believe the volunteers know this expectation beforehand so there really isn't a good reason not to update them on the website. Keep in mind this thread is only concerning U14 D1 and D3.

Now in Plano, the referee's turned in the scores and scores would get posted sometime that week.

Two 96D1 games were played last night. The early game score was posted last night, the late game posted early this morning. Any kudos for the volunteer now? I think that is great - especially for the middle of the week. Wouldn't have expected to see anything until after this weekend's games.

Yes, if this volunteer is reading this board:
    1. Kudos for posting the scores so fast
    2. Keep up the good work
    3. Find something better to do with your time other than reading this board

I may have to eat some crow here. Ody-FWU game was posted 2-1 United when it was actually 5-2 Ody. Now see what you all have done? You rushed them and they done messed up!

Someone off red west (I think) probably knows. There was a parent running up and down the fields checking game scores. Maybe they will read this and post them all. FCD won over Solar red 4-1 if that helps.
