Club Classic, Solar, Barcelona, Chivas, Gunners, Madrid, Fort Worth and Azzurri are basically battling for the last 4 D1 spots. With 10 head-on clashes left between these 8, and another 7 against top 4 teams, its way too early to say what will happen. And that doesn't even take into account Mother Nature, the flu bug and the North Texas officiating grab-bag!
This weekend should separate quite a bit of chaff, with 10 match-ups between these 14. Including 4 head-to-heads among those battling for those last 4 spots, and 4 between battlers and the top 3. Comets try to make a run for the top of the hill, while Azzurri really must have 6 pts if they are to thrust themselves into any kind of contention for a D1 spot. ASG Gold and FCD South could also make statements, not to mention possibly open up 2 more D1 spots, with big weekends, but they are probably relegated to the role of spoilers through the rest of this season.
No predictions (I'll leave that to the experts), but here are this weekend's most intriguing match-ups with an eye on the D1 food chain.
