    OCU 1 ASG 0
Strange game - ASG gives up an OG on a corner against OCU middle of the 2nd half, OCU has one shot on goal in the 28th minute of the 2nd half for the entire game.

Nice unexpected wins for LHU and OCU Saturday, and nice "upset" tie for FCDB. Seems like LHU has been playing at a higher level lately. OCU has had a very rough year, doesn't surprise that it was an OG, they are not an offensive machine! FCDB can play with upper D2 or lower D1 teams when they are on, and looks like they were on today. Even so, it is hard to get a goal against TFC's defense, so they couldn't close it out. With TFC tripping in D2 and HUFC winning, HUFC is now poised to grab one of the two top slots in that division. And it may come at the expense of TFC. CCO had a convincing win over DTR; DTR seems stagnant since the winter break.

Anybody know if the HUFC player who got booted (if one did) will have to sit a game? Did Asfour get booted?

I talked to a LP parent on the way out and they said that the HUFC player reiceved two questionable yellow cards (according to them, probably should have been fouls but whether card-worthy or not was questionable). The assistant coach (not Asfour) was very upset about the last one and apparently got booted from the bench, but did not have to leave the field.

I think because the player recieved two yellows as opposed to a red, he will not miss a game. Unless of course, he has already received a yellow previously.

Contraulations go to Mr. Medina he out coached Mr.Smudjar mon. I like coaches that coach for love of game no monies...they tied good team. Defense wins championships and big games, MVP goes to Tigre goalkeeper #1. Tigre Goalkeeper is best in 98 division, he stopped 34 shots in that game that is why they tied 1-1.

Nobody can keep up a winning streak like that. You mean all that yelling still couldn't push Solar ahead in this one. But they still haven't lost one and no other teams are even close to them in points. That Tigres goalie is outstanding. Are you saying Tigres doesn't charge for coaching? Where do I sign up?

He stopped 34 shots so does that mean Solar pretty much dominated the game? I give kuddos to the coach but you can't coach 34 shots saved unless that is the only person he coached. Defense wins games but if 34 shots were given by the defense doesn't say much about the defense, this is one game that sounds like the goalie saved. Where does Tigres practice at and when and where will they post open tryouts. I'd like a piece of that if the coach doesn't charge.

All that yelling surely was for the underdog, the Tigres.
There were some rumblings about a goal given to Solar that did not appear to go in or was that just their (Tigres') wishful thinking?

Rev Premier in trying to avoid relegation got 2 much needed wins this weekend, vs Andro and Real Madrid, no less. Good for them!

    Tigres

    Post  irish86 on Mon Mar 08, 2010 2:14 pm

Tigres got up 2-0, and held on for the tie. The second Solar goal was close, but linesman was adamant that it crossed the line.
Can't take anything away from the Tigres team. A yellow card each way but nothing really cheesy. Kudos all the way around.

Irish86, thanks for clarifying. That is a tough one especially for Tigres. In a game of such significance, where they could've/ might've broken Solars 80+ game win streak, how could the referee not call it like he saw it and not how the linesman saw it? Who has the final say?
Must've been a fun game to watch!

The center referee has the final say; however, it is highly unlikely that he would have a better view than a well positioned AR.

Although the forum does bring out a lot of Paul Bunyon and Pecos Bill stories - 34 shots is a little hard to believe (even under the assumption that there was no opponent).
The keeper's hands would have fallen off and a few shooters would not be able to walk after such a gun show. For the record, 10 is a heckuva lot of shots in a game, in an extreme mismatch 15-20 'might' be taken.
